Our Founder
Buck Jones Nursery has a rich legacy rooted in passion, hard work, and dedication to the horticulture industry. Robert and Bessie Neal Jones raised their son, Arthur A. "Buck" Jones, on a farm in Wrens, Georgia, where his love for the land began. While Buck initially pursued a degree in veterinary medicine at Auburn University, a visit to a family member’s nursery ignited his passion for plants and landscaping.
After graduation, Buck returned to Wrens with his wife, Mary Jane Ennis (Mrs. Buck Jones), to dive into the "green industry." Over the next several years, he gained valuable experience working for various nurseries and suppliers. In 1972, he founded Arthur A. Jones & Associates, Inc., from his home in Snellville, Georgia.
Through Buck's vision and dedication, the company evolved into one of Atlanta’s largest, oldest, and most respected suppliers of nursery and landscape supplies. Buck found immense joy in improving the world through horticulture and inspiring others with his commitment to excellence and community.
Since 1972, Buck Jones Nursery has focused on helping friends and clients succeed in both the professional landscape industry and home landscaping. With a sales staff boasting over 100 years of combined experience, the nursery excels as a diverse operation specializing in quality wholesale, growing, and brokering of container and field-grown nursery stock, trees, shrubs, perennials, grass sod, and other landscape supplies. This tradition of excellence and dedication continues to honor the legacy of Buck Jones.
